Guests will be able to access the newly renovated Kellogg Observatory and roof deck on July 14 & 15
BUFFALO, NY (April 4, 2018) – The Buffalo Museum of Science announced today it will open the newly renovated Kellogg Observatory to the public during a weekend-long celebration Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15.
To mark this momentous occasion, the Buffalo Museum of Science will offer extended hours during the opening weekend (10 a.m. – 11 p.m.). Throughout the day, guests will be able to access the roof to enjoy daytime solar viewing, as well as participate in a host of astronomy-related activities throughout the Museum. The Kellogg Observatory will open for nighttime viewing at 9 p.m., with guests being able to use the newly renovated telescope on a first come, first served basis. A private ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on the afternoon of Friday, July 13.
The Kellogg Observatory has been closed to the public since 1999.
