Science After Hours: Sci-Fi Edition
Science After Hours: Sci-Fi Edition is coming to a science museum near you! Grab your favorite sci-‘fit (a.k.a your best sci-fi getup or costume) and get ready to travel through time and explore the wide world(s) of this fan-favorite genre. Superheroes, dinosaurs, aliens, time travelers, robots, and giant animals are all fair game as we dive into the science behind the sci-fi books and film that have defined pop culture.
Exhibits on all four floors of the Museum will be open for adults-only fun, and our staff experts are ready to answer important questions like: “How likely is a real Jurassic Park?” “Will we ever get flying cars?” And “Could a shark actually get that big?”
Round out the evening with our special guests and features:
- Sci-‘Fit costume photo op contest with prizes (No weapons, please! This includes the fictional variety.)
- Short film screenings and talkbacks with Off-Beat Cinema – the nationally televised movie show that presents the best and worst of science fiction movies
- Sci-Fi Trivia with Tony Vescio and Evan Pease (Limited space! First 12 teams signed up in Hamlin Hall by 6:45pm. Teams of 4 to 10 players)
- Special guests from Buffalo Game Space, Rockabilly Greg, Ghostbusters 716, and the Justice League of WNY
All four floors of the Museum will be open throughout the event. Ages 21+, cash bar available, photo ID required.
