NASA Bringing Astronaut to Buffalo Museum of Science April 7

BUFFALO, NY– NASA, along with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), is adding a special visit by an astronaut to its eclipse programming at the Buffalo Museum of Science (BMS) this week. In addition to serving as a NASA Subject Matter Expert Site April 5-7, the BMS will welcome CSA astronaut Colonel Jeremy Hansen for a presentation in the Museum’s auditorium on Sunday, April 7.

Hansen’s April 7 presentation is scheduled to start at approximately 10:30 a.m. Doors to the Museum will open 9:30 a.m. Seating for Hansen’s presentation is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Seat reservations cannot be made in advance.

NASA programming for this week is scheduled for the BMS as follows:

Friday, April 5

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m: NASA Activities as part of Spring Break: Eclipse-a-palooza
  • 11:30 a.m.: NASA Subject Matter Expert Sandy Thai Greeson, Logistics Engineering and Management, NASA
  • 1 p.m.: NASA Subject Matter Expert Bianca Rhym, Gateway Deep Space Logistics Studios, NASA

Saturday, April 6

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m: NASA Activities as part of Spring Break: Eclipse-a-palooza

Sunday, April 7

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m: NASA Activities as part of Spring Break: Eclipse-a-palooza
  • 10:30 a.m.: CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen, Artemis II Mission Specialist
  • 11:30 a.m.: NASA Subject Matter Expert Sandy Thai Greeson, Logistics Engineering and Management, NASA
  • 1 p.m.: NASA Subject Matter Expert Kevin Czajkowski, NASA Science Activation GLOBE Mission Earth, NASA

The BMS will be closed for the eclipse on Monday, April 8.

In addition to NASA programming, the BMS is offering daily Eclipse-a-palooza activities now through April 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry to the all of the week’s activities is included with general museum admission and free for Museum Members.

The programming is presented by NASA in collaboration with the Buffalo Museum of Science, powered by generous support from M&T Bank. With M&T Bank’s support, Buffalo Public School students and one adult 18+ may enjoy free admission to the BMS on April 5, 6 and 7 with the presentation of their student ID.
